On the day itself you can find the Live Blog here – the Pontedera-Casciana Terme – Bologna part is actually already on 4 June

Map for this day

Please note: the definitive timetable for this #CrossBorderRail extra day is always the one in the Google Sheet. The full route map is on umap here.

Heading to Bourgogne – first with a short hop to Bologna, and then on 5 June through Switzerland to France. But rather than use one of the main borders, I am taking a secondary route – from Neuchâtel via Pontarlier to Dole, a route I have never taken. Like many of the France – Switzerland border lines the service is impeccable Swiss side, and rather too thin on the French side – room for improvement!

Borders crossed
TRAIN Brig (CH) – Iselle di Trasquera (IT)
TRAIN Travers (CH) – Pontarlier (FR)

Events
None – but if you would like to come along for part of the route, or say hello at one of the stops then contact me!

Transport
Trains – 9
Train-km – 955
