Today’s background
This is an extra #CrossBorderRail day – returning to France from Enschede. So as to avoid an expensive Thalys ticket I am making multiple changes across Netherlands in the morning, then taking a train from Antwerpen to De Panne in Belgium. There I will investigate the abandoned cross border line to Dunkerque that I have not yet visited. It was closed in the 1980s, and re-opening has been debated ever since. You can see these borders on my All The Borders map.
